Location: Maynard, MA (Woodbine Terrace) Budget: $25,000 Style: Modern

This project focused on revitalizing an outdoor living space by replacing a deteriorating wood structure with a high-performance, low-maintenance solution. Our team executed a complete "Design-Build" process, starting with the demolition of the old, peeling painted deck. We reshaped and reinforced the existing frame to ensure structural longevity before installing the new surface. The result is a striking modern deck that maximizes the backyard views. We utilized TimberTech composite decking, chosen for its durability and resistance to New England weather. The design features a complex diagonal board layout with contrasting borders, adding architectural interest and defining the seating areas.

Key Features & Materials:

  • Material: TimberTech Composite Decking, selected for its realistic wood look and fade-resistant technology, eliminating the need for annual staining.

  • Custom Carpentry: Features custom-built integrated bench seating that mimics the deck's angular geometry, providing ample seating without cluttering the space with furniture.

  • Design Details: The deck showcases a "picture frame" border design with a diagonal inlay pattern, requiring precise angle cuts and expert craftsmanship.

  • Structural Work: Comprehensive frame reshaping and reinforcement to support the new layout and heavy composite material.
